Discharge Defrost Differential Valve

when sizing up a hot gas defrost differential valve installed in the discharge line what is all the information that is required?

-Rack horsepower?
-Discharge line size?

these would be my guesses...

anyone know for sure whats needed? thanks.

Minimal pressure increase when not hot gasing, so you don't artifically increase discharge pressure at compressor, ie restrict flow rate.

That's correct. The engineering department ask for compressor models and discharge line size.:)

I should say max capacity flowing through it and allowable pressure drop.
