The only place I have seen this acronym was for large water chillers. The letters stand for Integrated Part Load Valve. This is an ARI method for rating the part load performance of water chillers.

May I correct you Iceman? I think it should be value not valve.

This type of rating is best suited for systems that should perform well in part load conditions like VRF systems. IPLV is done by measuring the EER at 4 capacity points – 25% of full load, 50% of full load, 75% of full load and the full load point. Once the EER at the 4 points have been measured, a weighted average formula is applied to calculate and get the IPLV.
