Carrier Total Test Kit might be what you are looking for

goggle = total test kit

or

www.totaline.com (http://www.totaline.com)

Connect to system to get approximate moisture & acid contamination indication.

Thermatech is right. Test kit works on Carriers 134a. U should test not refrigerant, but compressor oil, because water is heavier than refrigerant.

Interesting theory, with water at 1000 kg/cu.m and,say R12, at 1310 kg/cu.m it could be the other way round. ;)

Hi Claudiu
The first thing to do when the water content is
high in the oil is to replace the drierfilter and run
the chiller for a minimum 100 running hours and
then take an oil sample again. If the water content
has decreased but is still above 200 ppm,
the drier needs to be changed again and another
oil sample taken.
I don't know where to find a lab for oil analysis in your area but i guess that is the best way ....
Keep in touch
Mihai
