View Full Version : Is there a 24V water chiller? Around 300W?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a recirculating water chiller as part of a hybrid ventilation system.

It needs to be able to deliver around 300W of cooling and the plan is to run it from two 150W solar panels. So preferably it needs to be 24V DC. We need temperatures down to around 10C at room temperature.

Any ideas????

You could have a look at the Danfoss 12-24vdc compressors....

Also, information here...

I'd recommend something like this... ebay link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/400W-12V-TEC-Thermoelectric-Heat-Sink-Cooler-Peltier_W0QQitemZ150284414282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150284414282&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

they're totally inefficient.. them move 1watt of heat for every 1watt of power put in (which means for every 1 watt of heat absorbed by the cold side you have to remove 2 from the hot side!)

but they'll run right from you're soler panels, if they're only putting out 10% power then they'll still work... unlike a compressor ;)
