How to design this...

i need to design a refrigeration system wherein
Te = from -20C up to -10C
RC = from 20 tons to 40 tons
and should have a 2-compressor setup...
this can use flash tank or intercooler but i prefer to use an intercooler

A flash tank is normally different from an intercooler.

A flash tank is usually used for providing cold liquid at some intermediate temperature for lower temperature evaporators.

An intercooler is used to desuperheat the low stage discharge gas befor ethe vapor enters the high stage compressor.

However, there are flash type intercoolers also...;)

i forgot to specify that the intercooler will use a heat exchanger using water as the coolant
