Repair a shorted scroll?

Hi Guys,

I have two 5hp Copeland Scrolls that both trip electrical breakers when turned on. An engineer mentioned to me that he had heard they could be fixed but wasn't sure how. Something about flushing them out?

Anyone done this successfully before?

If they're shorted, replace them.

There ain't no magic.

The flush he's referring too would be used after the compressor changeout to clean the system.
