There aint no magic here. We're going to need more information. A model number would be nice.

He doesn't know the model number.

You have to get a Copeland catalog with mechanical data and start counting headers and measurements like the total length.

You will probably arrive to not more than 4 models that fit, then have to open the compressor and measure displacement will reduce it to two.

Then you have to look at the valve plate if is for low or high temp and there you have the model.

This information is almost useless to know the amount of refrigerant!

get a big recovery tank and recover it all, weigh tank, and now you know how much is in there! Q is do you really need to know?

The EAD2-0200-CAB is actually a strong 1-1/2 HP when looking at its capacity. The new model number is EADB-020A-CAB. Here's its specifications.

L502
388 CFH
230-1 (not dual 208/230)
8.4 RLA
--------------------------
The EAV2-0200-CAV you mention seems to have the voltage code mis-labeled. It should be CAB not CAV. CAV designates 208/230-1 dual voltage. This error could be the results of your local rebuilder.

Here are two models made in the EAV family 1 phase models.

EAVB-020A-CAB
L502/22
441 CFH
230-1
10 RLA

EAVB-021A-CAV
L502/22
441 CFH
208/230-1
14.7 RLA
-----------------------------------
The bottom line is that you will gain about 14% capacity if you use the EAV vs EAD (441 CFH vs
388 CFH)

You need to verify with the rebuilder which motor he is using, CAB or CAV, and change all start and run components to match.
