I was having a conversation with somebody yesterday who insisted that Hydrozorb clips should not be used anymore on installations using R410a, the reason he gave was that the operating temperatures caused expansion/contraction of the tube, thus more stress.
I was wondering what opinions you guy have?

Expansion and contraction of copper lines is always something that needs to be considered when planning pipe runs. Expansion loops are recommended every 10m by the manufacturer I work for.
Hydrozorb brackets in my opinion work very well, however sometimes it is beneficial to allow the piping to move (because of expansion etc..) if no expansion loops are to be fitted.

Because the temperatures involved with R410a are still similar to those of other refrigerants the principles are the same no matter what gas you are using.

I can't add a link due to my lack of previous posts but if you google expansion of copper tube you will find calculators to determine the amount of expansion you will need to accommodate
