Anybody has valuable info about HFO-1234yf?
I know it's a refrigerant made by Dupont-Honeywell... I don't know if they started production or not yet.

I've seen this ppt presentation before. It gives quite a bit of info...
I'd give it few months (max a year) before everybody will start talking about the great new HFO-1234yf refrigerant (or an update of it) that is the best refrigerant for mobile applications!

Chunk, I slightly disagree. It's not that perfect.... Have you seen the latest flammability tests with HFO-1234yf: alliance-co2-solutions.org/issues.php

And then there are still the unknown effects from decomposition products, as described in another article: r744.com/article.view.php?Id=661&latest=1

And, marwanm: You are right, they are already talking about the great new refrigerant. and of course it's the next "miracle" substance by chemical makers...

I have heard that no one company can patent the 1234yf molecule so no one company can own it. Not to be outdone the chemical companies are trying to patent the process so they can still control it. Just another reason why we need a huge overhaul of the patent laws.
