Philips electronic ballasts

Hi All

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase Philips electronic ballasts fitted on Dairy cabinets,

Philips
e-Kyoto Electronic Ballast
e-Kyoto 236 TLD 220-240
2 x TLD 36w

We have seen quite a few faulty recently but cant get them any where.

There is no starter everything is built in to the ballast with just a two core cable going down through the cabinet to each light so we cant get anything else to fit.

I deal with a different brand that uses the same style of lights. Most electrical and lamp specialists don't carry them but can order them in. It's a general PITA to find these things, I agree, we normally have to order in a box of them just so we can get them in under 5 days.

I just did a google for lamp specialists in the UK, have you tried these guys:

Paul can you tell me where you normally buy yours from we dont mind buying a box of them as they seem to be cropping up a lot now on cabinets about 3 years old.

I would like to have them in stock as some customers hav'nt got great patience.

Just a point of note if you haven't used them much, they require two working flouro tubes to complete the circuit - if you try to start them with only one flouro in place or one faulty - they will not illuminate either flouro, both flouros must be in place.

I agree with the two tubes.
Did you find that yourself or were you told.
Took me and a colleague hours and hours to figure it out:o.

Hi all

Thats good to know about the two lights so it might be just a faulty tube in the circuit that is making 2 lights go out at a time.

But I would still like to have some new ones just incase I go back and change tubes and they still wont work its a long way from base.

nah worked it out all by myself :eek:

I commission A LOT of supermarket fridges and I stumbled on it by accident, a meat case shelf light was missing and another was not working, the second i put a new tube in they both came good...

good old trial and error :D

I contacted BLT and they are getting the philips ballasts in for us.

I must say BLT are great to deal with no messing about.
