Recovery unit

Hello

I need to recover large amounts of refrigerant, and I need a simple to use, not too large, and reliant unit.

I've tried units based on Bitzer compressors. They work fine, and are quite fast. The problem is oil from the compressor tends to end up at the recieving end. Despite filters, and oil separators.

I've also tried those small portable devices with oil free compressors. They don't work as fast as the first mentioned units, and they tend to overheat.
The problem here is that they are not built for running continously for many hours. (5-15 hours is normal) We often need to empty 60 litre cylinders of about 40 kgs of refrigerant each, or 900 litre drums of 30-600 kgs of refrigerant. Mostly 30-100 kgs from the drums. (The heel).

Does anybody know of any reliable, and effective unit for my purposes?

If you use Danfoss Turbocor oil free compressor you couldn't keep up with cylinder changes speed. And it is only 120 kg. :D:D

A small centrifugal liquid pump fitted to an electric motor works great if size is not a problem. We used one to move refrigerant from 1000kg pots through lines in our factory. The pump itself is 7/8 dia in/out and approx 5" dia centrifugal pump coupled to an electric motor.

A pump for liquid sounds simple enough.

But, I want to pump gas, and all of the gas in the cylinder/drum. I wish to recover all of the refrigerant, but at the same time I wish for any possible oil content to be left in the cylinder to be empty.

best then to just use your fast one with additional oil seps and or carbon oil absorbers.

have you seen the oil free compressors - as on an ozz reclaim units and you could use the push -pull method of recovery ?

Ona thought if the Op is still reading gasp style vain pump, they do both liquid & gas and are high speed!
