Whirlpool 20RI D3 Control Panel Problem

Hi, I having a problem wfith the Electronic Display Unit (Control Panel) is not working even though earlier today it was. My Father had to turn off the power to the downstairs mains part of the house completely off for a couple of hours to lay tiles close to a power switch and when he turned it back on the control panel didn't turn back on. I was wondering if this was a problem with the EDU unit alone or the Fridge as well.

Take extension cord and plug it where you sure that appliances works and plug that fridge in extension cord. If then works, it is some problem with that outlet where you initially plug in your fridge.
