What would be the effects of an oversized drier in a cap tube system?

my guess..............?
More refrigermerant!
That's all.
:D
Hi,:)
also additional subcooling of the liquid, which would increase the capacity of the capillary, again leading to flood back.
This previous statement is again dependant on the placement of the drier, with driers facing vertically up causing the greatest increase in subcooling.

Extra note
========
Assuming the added liquid line volume inadvertanlty results in an increased charge.
The key here is a capillary tube system is a critically charged system. If the filter-drier acts like a receiver, then you can have some problems.
With a TEV, however, no problem... :)
