emigrating to UK jobs for a transport fridgie
i'm a diesel mechanic by trade (C&G 1,2,3) and have spent ten years downunder on transport refrigeration. Working on TK and Carrier. I'm a pretty good allrounder and switched on. I enjoy the job.
So would i get a job with just a F-gas level 1 and the experience/diesel qualification
what parts of the UK is the hotspot for jobs in Transport. I prefer working on trailer units.
I'm from Birmingham originally so would like to work around there. Who fixes the fridges around there ? Pullman and Marshall's ?
There appears to be more jobs where the housing costs more.(down south)
Most adverts ask for experience with GAH, Frigoblock and Hubbard, none of which we have in Australia. These are just off engine drives and nothing too hard to pick up on ?

Why not give Turners (Soham) Ltd. They are just outside Cambridge near Newmarket and when I left there 5 years ago they had a fleet of about 250 fridge freezer trucks they have there own guys and also contract out some of their work. It sis also a nice area to live in. I used to live near there in Bury St Edmunds.

Hah, I don't have any family here, got heaps over there, all thick brummies.
You must know some places in brum Dennis. Telford being the overflow for the place!
Its not 100% yet that i'll leave here, as the visa situation for the Aussie wife is a real pain now.
Just testing the water.

Re: emigrating to UK jobs for a transport fridgie
the border security are mean buggers here, even Australians can't get them to smile. Just don't pack your fin comb.
Daniel was saying that he packed you off to Tassie and QLD, as i was asking him if you had anytime to do a bit of work. He is a top bloke, i've known him ten years now, always very generous.
So who do know in Brum then chap.

Re: emigrating to UK jobs for a transport fridgie
Daniel is too kind! **** hot on vectors? nice to know he was pleased with me,the work seemed more precise taking into account the climate and the reefers having poor insulation you have to be on your metal no space for second guessing and the distances in oz
