Hotpoint FF200EG Frost free Fridge Freezer
Installed only ten weeks when the freezer froze the soft scoop ice cream like concrete, the fridge ceased working. Hotpoint engineer diagnosed the problem right away, the frost free Hotpoint had completely iced up and blocked the Air Ducts to the fridge.
Told the only way to prevent the problem is to isolate the unit for a few hours every few weeks to allow the unit to Defrost, surely there is a better solution to this problem or am I stuck with a duff product.Last edited by fredalfred; 23-10-2007 at 11:44 AM.

Re: Hotpoint FF200EG Frost free Fridge Freezer
It should be self defrosting.
Next time it ices up get him back out.
If it happens again, send it back to the shop and get a refund.
ChillinIF AT FIRST YOU DON`T SUCCEED.
DESTROY ALL EVIDENCE THAT YOU TRIED!
and go get a cuppa

Re: Hotpoint FF200EG Frost free Fridge Freezer
Domestic freezer runs -18 to -22 deg c.
Ice cream fridge runs -20 to - 24 deg c.
as far as i was aware.
Im not entirely sure as to what you mean by "soft scoop ice cream".
why not microwave it on defrost for 25 seconds.
if a problem existed where the fridge became "cut off" from freezer airflow then surely the fridge would warm up and the freezer would continue to operate correctly.
rather confused by you question
as chillin says, get a new one.
