Re: no outdoor fan motor
Yes it is.
Either pipe it up to the moon, or you could use water to cool the coil.
ChillinIF AT FIRST YOU DON`T SUCCEED.

Re: no outdoor fan motor
or you could employ some 3rd world children and let them blow on the condensorcoil!

Re: no outdoor fan motor
Well of course you can, but you have to get rid of the heat somehow. You could use sort of a static condensor - about the size of a middle-sized home's roof - rather expensive and not very beautifull.
What application do you have in mind? And why would you like to get rid of the fan motor?

Re: no outdoor fan motor
Not all condensor fans are noisy!
We have SQ (super quiet) ones that produce little to no sound!
Best bet is to use a watercooled condensor! No fan needed! just some piping and a lot of very expensive water!!!

Re: no outdoor fan motor
there is a large choice - in different brands - of very quiet split units indeed. at 2 - 3 meters distance, you can't really tell whether a unit is running or not. Maybe you should try some other brands...
Any other option most probably will be more expensive.

Re: no outdoor fan motor
Gosh, go for the A - brands and you'll be just fine. Mitsubishi electric, Hitachi, Daikin, most Samsung and Toshiba are doing very well.
You could also check www.eurovent-certification.com for serious and un-biased sound power levels (and general performances) if you want to compare and make your own selection of well performing brands.
Good luck,

Re: no outdoor fan motor
Maybe you can try this. Make your condenser fins big and wide, put a long hood over it, Similar to a chimmy. as hot air raise, it will creat a draft at the bottom, cold air rush in to bottom, cool off your condensing coil, exit at top as hot air.
I have not done this. ...but it might work. Think like Thomas Edison, experiment, thats how we get the light bulb. Now do you see the light?Be Happy
