Re: Line set sizing
What's the size of the fittings?
I'm sure it would be designed for the correct size.
Also check the manuals."If Hannah was an air handler, I would be a condensing unit so I could open her TXV and pump my refrigerant through her coils." - a HVAC friend of mine

You can't always go by the connection size found on the unit or this would eliminate the need for tables altogether. I have tables for R22 but not R410a.

A book about the lines of a 5 ton AC on R410a??
I have a book for a 3 ton and a 7 ton, can this help you any further? It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: Line set sizing
Hi,
I can give you the line size if you tell me the followings :
1- Compressor capacity at design conditions.
2- Horizontal Pipe length (suction, liquid).
3- Vertical pipe length (suction, liquid).
4- Number and type of bends.
I have developed a pipe sizing programme and it is easy to size the pipes.
