Got called out of the compressor room to sign the delivery of 2000 Kg of *****...
head up and ashore to find a truck with 185 10.8 kg bottles of R-404a...
I laughed
Made a manifold so we could charge 8 bottles at a time, then I laughed some more

Re: Laugh or cry... meh
Apart from getting 2kgs less than ordered I would expect your wastage to go up as well.
Do you think that they were having a 'warehouse sale' and you came along ?Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: Laugh or cry... meh
To answer the Norwegian first, jobber for MMC Kulde på Valderøya
Unitor had 48 kg bottles, but they were a tad more expencive... My bet is they spent whatever they saved on having one of us on shore changing bottles for three days but then again we were in Chile, the sun was shining straight down, no shadow to be found... no shadow to be found ANYWHERE. and we charged almost the whole plant without starting the compressors due to the temperatrure difference-Cheers-

Re: Laugh or cry... meh
Hi had the same type of job in the past when we moved a large blast freezer, we needed to add 7tons of Ammonia into the system for the new pipe work and replace what was removed for the freezer move. Someone who made out the order got in 67Kg. cylinders and not the 1ton. cylinders that we wanted. But same as you it was in the summer time so 14 hrs. later, 3 of them on over time we compleated the system recharge and started up the rest of the freezers for the start of new production run on green veg. and chips.

Re: Laugh or cry... meh
The beginning, I'm wearing blue coveralls, a black t-shirt, the sun is beating down from almost straight up and the ozon layer is close to non existant... I'm not amused
The rig we made, eight bottles connected to a 7/8 pipe that again connects to a 3/8" dual layer hydraulic hose (we use these for everything) 10mm inner diameter, sight glass for good measure, the loss of refrigerant was very low. (i think )
Almost there... a sea of orange bottles
