Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
Hello
I've heard that Daikin has factory secret's code (code 50) by using wired remote control on VRV system (and sky air too).
This should be healpfull for example to stop indoor fan during thermostat off or close the expansion valve, etc...
I have no idea how to change these codes and if it's really true. Would you please send me information about it...
Regards

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
50 codes only for Daikin engineers! Not to be messed about with!!! Thats what Daikin say anyways.
Make the guy on the helpline panic by asking about 60 codes!!!!

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
yeah daikin use 50 and 60 codes for doing weird stuff like shutting expansion valves fully in heating, changing units from r22 to r407c turning off all fault codes etc. using them is easy but knowing what they do is the tricky bit. there is a powerpoint presentation which shows you how to use these codes and what they do if you know the right people you can get a copy......

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
The main problem with these codes is that they are not tested on all models and some of them when changed can not be changed back. So it is advised that they are not used. Most of the time if you have to resort to these codes then your system has not been installed correctly or plain and simple not the right system for the job

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
Yes, Daikin engineers have a secret handshake too.
If you apply this when they come to commission your ac then they will buy you breakfast and lunch!

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
Daikin definately have a series of codes we mere mortals are not to know about.
Did you also know that the inverters on VRV and VRF systems will run upto 160% instead of the 130 we all know about.
It was Daikin, the first user of VRV who decided that there would be a limit of 130% so now every one does it.
They have installed limiting hard ware on the units to prevent this so called " OVER RUN"

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
Thanks to Lespare but you send trouble shooting codes!!! and i know them very well...
In response at michael7 you have to know that on the last VRV P series (RXYQ_P7W1B) you can reach 200% so you have to take care about the selection of the outdoor unit...

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
hi guys, brand new here. great site.
I have a code error U1 and need page 181 to fault find if possible? Anyone know where I can download the manual? Or even just this fault for now. Model is RNY8KY1R and is linked to another outdoor unit, RXY8KY1R R22 system.
thanks in advance,

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
A U! error code indicates a problem with the mains power supply, either an imbalance of phase voltage, a lost phase or reversed phase.
Use the search button at the top for Daikin Codes, they are on the forum somewhere.

thanks for the prompt reply,
have checked power supply and phase rotation, unit has been running for years until now, other units not effected.anyone know where to get a service manual online? something similar to what was posted earlier? with the steps on fault diagnosing, ie. p181 of service manualLast edited by coolerIE; 20-04-2007 at 08:45 PM.

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
Hi cooler
U1, if mains in is ok 240v on each phase to neutral and 415v across each phase maybe there is a loose connection on the internal condenser wiring causing a voltage drop to be registered, especially check the contactors if this fault is intermitent. hope this helps.

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
Thanks again lads.
Thinking it's a problem from the power supply from the building panel to the unit. I'll check connections ensure nothing is loose. I'll let you know I get on.

mode 44 make individual group control

Re: Daikin secret's code, is it true? How?
i heard that a guy installed 20 od units somewhere and the cliant wouldnt pay up so he put these secret codes to action....
went down and the cliant still wouldnt pay, he knew that one of these codes made the remote go completely blank and stay blank whatever occurrence, after a while the cliant paid and got his engineer back, obvioulsy not thinking it through it struck the engineer that he had no way of reseting this code as he couldnt see anything on the remote! Doh! in the end he had 2 change all the indoor boards which turned out rather costly!
beware!
