Most common refrigerants?
Im an adult apprentice currently studying to get cert 3. I have experience in domestic air conditioning only and need some insight into other industries and what the common refrigerants are.
Im using a supermarket as my example for commercial.
From what I gather its R507 for commercial?
But I imagine the larger systems, for multiple displays at different temps use different refrigerant to the storage freezers.
And I suppose the plug in fridges use R134a like most household fridges.
Anyway these are a couple points I've been stuck googling most of the day trying to get a solid answer. Finding this forum already looks to be a big resource but any help from someone who's working in the industry would be great.
thanks

Re: Most common refrigerants?
Hello Heaps.
welcome to the RE forum.
For a start down load the "slide Rule" apps from Danfoss site and get all the relevant refrigerant options, there are literally hundreds available.
Generally super market systems are cascade sub or trans critical CO2 systems for efficiency and multi temperature applications. Industrial systems are more likely ammonia based, single and two stage systems.
Welcome to the refrigeration Industry.

Re: Most common refrigerants?
Hi heaps
The commercial market in the uK generally uses R404A not R507 , but due to new regs R404 is being replaced with R407A and R407F. The larger supermarkets use transcritical CO2 whereas the smaller stores use 407A and F . Plug ins tend to be R290 or 600a.
Industrial is either R507 NH3 or Co2 sub or transcritical
AC is typically R410A or R32 is the latest offering
