Searching for a Ammonia Respirator mask
Hi,
I am looking for a Ammonia Respirator Mask, something that is not too pricey.
Can anyone recommend me some models that I could look at.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Searching for a Ammonia Respirator mask
Hi.
The Respirator shown is suitable, however I don't know what ones are available to you in Singapore?
Sunstrom do a nice one similar to the Arco one.

You need K1 or K2 filters to go with it.

Re: Searching for a Ammonia Respirator mask
I quite like the one I have, it's the 3M 6800, no idea what it costs.
The filters on the side allows you better vision than a mask with a huge filter in the center and you can actually see what you are doing and it's a slim design so you don't get the filters caught up in stuff when you are working in cramped spacesLast edited by Tycho; 27-05-2014 at 09:13 PM.

Your life depends on a quality mask, do not scrimp on the purchase price. I use 3 M masks myself. Similar to Tycho.

Re: Searching for a Ammonia Respirator mask
Hi,
I am considering getting the 3M 6200 (half mask), and pairing it with the green ammonia filter, and using a separate goggle for eye protection. The links are below.

Will this work?

Re: Searching for a Ammonia Respirator mask
Hi Iced T
Magoo and Tyco are correct.
You would be silly to try and use a 1/2 mask.
If there is enough vapour present to necessitate putting a respirator on, then you need one with full face cover.
Otherwise the vapour will attack the moisture within your eyes/ eye sockets.
With little or no warning the resultant ammonia solution will the slowly burn the skin across your eyeball.
You don't want to go there.

Re: Searching for a Ammonia Respirator mask
Hi, Iced-T
Ammonia is our friend, but that does not mean we can underestimate that refrigerant.
It is not possible to deal with ammonia half equipped, believe me do not use cheap solutions.
You are protecting your body i.e. your life ... which is priceless.
Here, on RE forums, you can make your own search about ammonia ... please, do that.
