    Questions regarding a replacement split

So I'm looking at replacing my old Panasonic E24EKRS 7kw unit, with probably their new E24PKR 7kw unit.

I wouldn't mind something more powerful like their E28PKR.

But there a few things I'd like to know before I consider this further.

Would there be a noticeable difference in cooling between their 7kw unit and their 8kw?

The 8kw unit has the twin fan condenser outside, and I'm also wondering if the pipe sizes, as in diameter and gauge, would be any different to what I currently have with my old 7kw.

Also, would their new 7kw perform better cooling wise than their old in anyone's opinion?

Is your old unit still working?

If so, no you wouldn't notice the difference.

Re: Questions regarding a replacement split

The unit is still working, but about 8 years old and gets a hammering over summer and is usually never off. Just a matter of what temp I set it to.

It cools usually about 76 square meters, about 55 of that open plan living area and the rest a room and bathroom down a small hallway. I some times close the bathroom door to help.

It does struggle in a sense but performs quite well, but the living areas can get too cool, while the other room can still be a little warm.

Would a 7kw ducted system perform any better than a centrally located split?
