Re: Ooopppsss
It's impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious...
Don't ever underestimate the power of stupid people when they are in large groups.
Please, don't teach me how to be stupid....
No job is as important as to jeopardize the safety of you or those that you work with.

Re: Ooopppsss
CO2 pack's been in there a while now. Almost as long as I was looking for black shoe polish in the same store once...
From talking to some of the Space chaps there's a few CO2 packs leaking like seives which just get topped up. CO2 is cheaper then R404A so keeps the supermarkets chugging along nicely.Health and safety first..........unless I'm in a hurry.

This is what I love about CO2.
It is so incredibly environmentally friendly...

Re: Ooopppsss
its the carcinogenic oil mist that splurges all over the poor old ladies Louis Vitton Handbag while she is reaching into the milk cooler, followed by the 40 Bar blow dry that makes me think maybe green aint that green when it makes your customers knickers go brown.
Even good old Danfoss cant get their equipment to stay gas tight!I love the smell of Ammonia in the morning!

Re: Ooopppsss
I cant really see why this would be funny .I know that there are guys on this forum who are trained in co2 and i think their reluctance to trade knowledge and the general im in your not attitude of the co2 lobby as a whole might piss a lot of people off, but in the end of the day the guys on site will feel the brunt of this and everything they were told to do will be denied so lay off the happy it happened ineundo.A gas was decided as the way forward and stuck in supermarkets and guys were stuck on a one day course and deemed capable(we have all been on these courses right}. the people who designed ,ordered and signed on this are getting their big fingers out to point at the lowest in the chain (the guys on site) so these kinda sniggery comments on here about fellow fridgies are most distastefull.

Re: Ooopppsss
Yes but you are laughing at the misfortune of other engineers.I dont do any work with co2 but it annoys me how happy people are when these plants go wrong. Some of our fellow tradesmen (quiet possibly members here) will be put through the grinder when these things happen and i personally wouldnt wish that on anyone

Re: Ooopppsss
I'd say that, realistically, CO2 plants would be more likely to give maintenance headaches in the long run, due to the excessively high pressures required. This has always been a very weak point for CO2 technology.

Re: Ooopppsss
Very good and valid points Joe.
Spoken as one who is as we say "On the Tools"!
I like your sentiment, it's honest and fair!
I have to admit I did smile when i read the posts about the leak.
Mainly because i hate what supermarkets have and still do to our industry!
So any **** that might stick on them is OK by me.
I agree we are drowning in advisor's and specialists who have screwed everyone down to the point that
no-one with half a brain would admit to a near miss let alone a simple cut or abrasion!
There are some good guys out there though and guess what they are being squeezed also.
Our area guy has had his patch tripled and is under the threat of redundant himself.
An email to someone above stating your concerns and saved is a good move.
Chill Joe even Firemen and Servicemen take the piss!
I know my colleagues do of me, when I mess up!
But they are there when it matters.
