What are the pros and cons of installing the outdoor unit below the indoor unit ?

Hi, If the outdoor unit of a single split is installed 8 feet below the indoor unit is there any disadvantage as opposed to installing it above on the rooftop where it will be 5 feet above the indoor unit but exposed to the sun ? Please advise.
