Superheat
Hi guys
I have been out off the hvac business for a while now but my brother asked me to
add some r22 gas to his split unit so i tried to use the super heat method
i did my measurments and this is what i got
Outside Temp: 113F
Inside Temp: 80F
Target Superheat: 33
Suctions pipe side Temp: 32F
Suction side pressure converted to Temp: 21F
Current Superheat: 13
are my calculations right ??

Naughty, you should not be using R22

This is probably a lot too late, but you have a major airflow problem. The evaporator will very quickly ice at those temps. Check the filter, blower and indoor coil for dirt, check that the registers are open, etc. Many techs think the adding refrigerant is the answer to every problem, usually ending up killing the compressor in the process.
