Evaporator cross flow fan in two bits

Hey I attended a job today on a Kelvinator ese24hra split system and the cross flow fan that's the long plastic cylinder bit is Brocken in half. Why?. don't no really, looks like a joint gave way and the whole thing collapsed. Can these come out easily. Has anyone changed one? Any tips to ease my pain.

yes. Open the opposite side of the fan motor, take off the plate with the bearing, open the tiny Allan bolt on the motor shaft and replace the fan.
