which is the best effective electronic leak detector
just wondering which electronic leak detectors other engineers are using.
Myself personally i have 2 x detectors on the van one is more effective than the other even when they have fresh batteries and filters replaced.
I believe some are better than others lets see if we get a certain partern of one particular detector standing out from the rest.
let the battle begin
And to save any confusion specifically for detecting R404a

Re: which is the best effective electronic leak detector
Not really had that many differant ones, to start with the old yellow cps ones in the leather case that sound like you have won the jackpot on a fruit machine, they are hopeless. Had a Javac TEK mate after that and thought it was good. Then following that a Javac D-TEK that was good as well (but i was told at the time they were £400/450). Company im with just now wont give me one, just keep telling me to get tins of spray from the climate centre.
By the way has anyone seen the Easy Find leak spray you get from the climate centre?, you wouldnt want to touch it, it looks like jizz.

Re: which is the best effective electronic leak detector
cheers for your input NB12, soap spray is very effective with the help of a decent electronic detector, unless you have a good idea where the leak is.
there is that many different types of electronic detectors on the market nowadays, upto now we have the javac tek and D-TEK.
does anyone rate anything else other than the D-tek?your only as good as your last job

Re: which is the best effective electronic leak detector
d-tek best i have had... the only problem they need to be well charged up or wont work right..
after every use i bring home and charge up over night...
i thought at first it was crap but then i gave it a 24hr charge and flying since.. once battery was dead and i charged it for 2 hours but was useless... came back the next day after full night charge and found it straight away...!

Re: which is the best effective electronic leak detector
We have D-TEK select with infrared sensor and it is very good, it is not so good in small places where there is not ventilation as you get beep with smalla amount of refrigerant in room.

Another vote here for D Tek select. It has restored my faith in electronic leak detectors.
