Trane air cooled screw chiller
Hi
Am trying to get service manual for trane chiller it has no model/serial info . It is approx 1993 2 x screw compressor air cooled (8 fan) it has controller with 4 arrow buttons , up,down, left, right. Any info appreciated as am having trouble understanding status and fault codes. It was retrofitted by a different company from r22 to r438 which apparantly caused exv failure .trane have recommended retrofit to r404a which has been carried out by another engineer but it still has issues which I need to investigate
Thanks

Re: Trane air cooled screw chiller
Hi Sounds like you have an early RTAA unit. The controller was known as a UCM. Let me scratch arround and try to get you some info.
If the expansion valve assembly has been changed it would also be advisable to upgrade the EEV control module as well. An upgrade is available for the front screen as well, however you would also have to replace the chiller module as well. R404a is the recomended retrofit refrigerant for this chiller but the mineral oil has the flushed and replaced with POE. Trane oil 020E. Low refrigerant temp trips will occur if the oil has not been Flushed correctly. Good luck
