Bristol 2 speed comps
Hi Guys,
Got a Bristol two speed compressor to fit in place of a single speed next week, its the same duty when run on high speed.
Anyone know how these things are wired up, i believe the motors can work on either 2 or 4 poles depending on how its connected.
Cheers Jon

Jon.
Are you sure you don't mean Dual Voltage?
Series A + BG series?
Basically they are wired as stand alone or in tandem.
I will email some details.

Re: Bristol 2 speed comps
Cheers Guys! Looks like i have to link the low speed terminals together, and just power the high speed ones off the three phases.
I've got a delay timer i shall fit too as i think the old one died due to cycling on the lp as its got a leak on the condenser.

Re: Bristol 2 speed comps
Hi Jon.
The attached should help?
Bristol do indeed recommend using a time delay to prevent comp short cycling.

Re: Bristol 2 speed comps
Thanks Grizzly!
I've got no excuse now not to go and fit it!
I've got a IMO timer that i think i can wire into the CCH feed so that once the comp goes off it starts counting down till it will allow a restart, or i might be able to get a feed from the lp/hp switch if its one of those dual ones with the four connections.
