Iced Compressor and Twin Screw question...

Hello Guys, i'm not new to air conditioning but i'm still a novice when it comes to troubleshooting. Can you please explain to me why did these pictures happen? And what are the probable causes and things to be done so these wont happen again...

    compressor

    suction line

    AHU

    Air Filter

    Also:

My boss have overhauled a carrier 30GX screw compressor.. there were 2 identical compressors, one with a grounded winding and one with a mechanical problem...
the one with a grounded winding was replaced with a winding from the other. When the compressor was started.. the compressor motor functioned but there was no compression... what could be the problem??

    many thanks to all..

You are getting liquid back to the compressor. This could be caused by many things. It could be a bad TX valve, or a iced evap, or one of many other things. This will destroy the compressor if you do not sort it out.

Switch it off and get a competant engineer to have a look at the system for you?

    Hi
as said before you should have a ref look at the system ,you are working at either very low suction pressure due to lack of rerigerant,or low head pressure,or bad air flow over the coiles, and many other possible reasons,
as for the screw ,it would seem like while assembling the comp either the slide valve wasnt placed correctly, or some other mechanichal issue.
    good luck

The first thing to do is to get those coils cleaned, they look very dirty, then check the airflow.

After that then you can check the refrigerant side.

just for new guys reading old threads for hints...

My first guess from these pictures would be blocked evaporator coil or more likely slipping belts on the evaporator. The maintenance appears poor so I certainly wouldnt rule out low running pressure, liquid flood back etc. Could be some clever sod altered the TXV adjuster!!
