After finally admitting the knees had gone and total agreement from the team, my football has come to an end
so I have brought a RC plane and chopper to keep out of her way (at her request)

Re: RC Planes
Never got into the planes but have had a few choppers, started with micros and the like and progressively got bigger ,then made the leap from battery to fuel.Been flying this for a while now ,almost killed my neighbor on it's first outing.
Nose to tail 3 foot ,tip to tip on the rotors 4 foot , does about 60mph.Good fun but f cking dangerous if you're not concentrating

Re: RC Planes
I could never overcome the ground effect, then if engine cut out... gravity takes over. Decided model planes was the go, at least with a bit of height and skill, landing in one piece without power is possible. Was involved with model aero club, lots of planes and helos, prangs and tears

Re: RC Planes
I never messed with RC planes, but I was heavy into R/C sail boats.

Re: RC Planes
I have heard the choppers are very hard to fly is this correct? Two people i know both lost their choppers never to be seen again luckily one was insured.

Re: RC Planes
Correct and right. A lot going on 10+ channels .Haven't lost mine yet but have come close on more than one occasion , crashed it loads though ,falls out of the sky on a regular basis . But great fun all the same.
If mine was insured i'd have lost my no claims bonus a long time ago.

Re: RC Planes
I would recommend putting your contact details on it somewhere maybee you will get it back if it goes. Then again a rogue chopper on the loose may cause some damage so its probably best not to leave any evidence.
