Defect compressor or not?
Hi!
How can I confirm that a hermetic compressor is trash or not (fridge walk in module)? It is running without any noise. Compressor housing is getting warm but piping on pressure side is not increasing mutch. It is not big difference between felt temperatur on pipe for suction or pressure. Suctionpressure is around 5 bar with 134a refrigerant.. Most probably defect compressor that has to be changed out?
Thanks for help.

Re: Defect compressor or not?
5barg = 16°C, not much cooling.

Re: Defect compressor or not?
Compressor is not pumping. No need to check more, replace it.

Re: Defect compressor or not?
Is the compressor definitely running or is it humming? 5 bar sounds like standing pressure did you manage to take a head pressure reading? If compressor is defo running and not achieving anything would advise to replace

Re: Defect compressor or not?
OK let me throw in my 2 pennies worth... Check that the start relay is ok as a faulty one of these can switch the klixxon inside causeing the comp to overload and just Humm.... Also measure the current across all 3 pins on the comp, start, windings & Ground.
