ISO68 oil / R422D
I need to convert a chiller from R22 to R422D or equivalent. The chiller has a semi-hermetic screw on it which runs on ISO68 oil. I know this oil is designed for ammonia use but will I be ok converting this system to R422D?

Re: ISO68 oil / R422D
Have recently inheritted a dairy cooling system that had been converted from R22 to R422D, i had to replace two solenoid valves due to the o rings leaking.
If and when i do any conversions from R22 in future i will be changing o rings or whole parts at the same time. Can't help much with your oil question...Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

I agree with MS on this one, replacing all seals is a wise precaution. Having experience with the first wave of drop-in refrigerants, they did have a tendency to devour all forms of rubber in the system.

Re: ISO68 oil / R422D
First thing to do is to contact the compressor manufacturer and see what requirements he may have for using the blend and what oil to use in the compressor. Once you know th eoil and refrigerant, you need to check the other elastomers in the system.
