daikin split cycle airconditioner model rxd71Jvea
I have just been advised by a tech that the code presented on this unit has a code H27? in short the compressor is dead. He suggested I buy another split air conditioner as it wasn't worth repairing. Is the tech right with his diagnosis or can I replace the compressor. This unit is 10 years old and only used been usedon extreme temperature days . The compressor died on a day the temperature was 38-40 degrees celcius.

Re: daikin split cycle airconditioner model rxd71Jvea
theres a few factors to consider here,
if the system is ten years+ parts may be difficult to source
what refrigerant the old system is, will it be replaced with a more energy efficient so running cost can be lower that can be offset against new install.g from R22 to R410A will be more energy efficient
is this the first of many problems to come
also if the system is in the UK there also UK F gas regs to take into account if the system is R22Paul

Re: daikin split cycle airconditioner model rxd71Jvea
Daikin fault codes are 2 characters, not 3, so it can't be H27, could be H7 for example.
The JVEA units aren't very good, parts are expensive, so I'd buy a new unit instead of repairing myself.
