Daikin
Hi,
I'm working on a daikin VRV2 heat recovery tomorrow (not sure of the model number) which is faulting on an "E4"
fault but as i hardly ever work on these units i can't remember how to be sure all the solonoids and expansion valves are open when pressure testing and vaccing out.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on this one please?

Re: Daikin
E4 can also be faulty sensor or pcb im trying to email you manual for this unit to your e mail in your v card it is quite alrge file so not sure if it will work if you dont get the file call daikin on 01932879200 and they will talk you thriugh the open all valves procedure the down side is you have to leave the power on to the unit whilst testing which isn't ideal

Re: Daikin
That's great guys, thanks.
Why don't Daikin make it simple like Mitsi?
Also thanks for the email james10, that will come in handy tomorrow for sure. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

Re: Daikin
The units in question is a reyq10m8w1b x2
Got to site this morning, unit running with no fault codes yet air off on heating 28C.
Checked fault history and found unit 0 "JC" fault but no "e4" fault which had been reported.
Does anyone have the manual for this one that shows error codes? I'm unable to log onto extranet whilst at work using my PDA.The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

Re: Daikin
Jc=Malfunction suction pipe sensor/defect low pressure sensorsystem/connection high pressure with wrong connection/defect outdoor pcb board
Daikin text service 07797801908 just text the fault code to that number and they text you straight back with error description i'll email you error code list all daikin codes are the same regardless of system type

Re: Daikin
Thanks, traced the problem to a low pressure transducer that was faulty.
All sorted now.The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

Re: Daikin
It's taken me 4 years to get hold of the Mitsubishi monitoring tool and i work on that kit all the time.
We don't do much work on Daikin VRV's which is why i haven't really pushed to get one but it could all change so it may be worth investing in one.
How easy is it to get the service checker and is there a course to go on to show you how to use it?The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

Re: Daikin
The tranducers are on shrader valves anyway I had to change the discharge one on one of these units last month!

Re: Daikin
The service checker isn't as hard to get hold of as the mitsi monitor tool, think as long as you're willing to cough up the cash they're happy to supply. Have been told recently that they do provide a course but not checked for sure. Think they may have recently published some more training course dates..
I thought it was the older 407c type units that were the last to have schrader connections..
If you've not got another condenser on the system you made need to recover the full charge, the only access valves for recovery, pressure testing/vaccing are on the main condensing unit isolation valves. You couldn't even close these & recover into the pipework cause there's no other access fittings on the condenser..
I prefer Mitsi..

Re: Daikin
The pressure transducers on VRVII (M series) are connected using mushroom type schrader valves and can be replaced without removing gas charge.
The transducers on VRVIII (P series) are weld in.

Re: Daikin
hi there going to fit this pressure transducer tomorrow, the system has 2 condensors both the same model number :reyq10m8w1b
To stop the unit from going in to fault marc has used the mode buttons on the outdoor main board to disable the faulty condensor from the system therfore allowing it to run whitout faulting on the indoor remote controllers.
Could someone please post how we are able to put the system back to how it was originally please.
