Coldface panels
Hi,
Are there any experts on Elliwell Coldface panels out there?
We have a 5 degree room with one of these and when it gets down to temperature, the evaporator fans stop. I want to keep the fans running to get air back to the probe and give a better indication of room temperature.
What setting do I need to alter?
I have been through the book and cannot find the right setting.

Re: Coldface panels
i think you need to adjust setting fst, if the probe 2 (evap probe) reads higher than the set point of the room the fans will stop, try setting this setting to +20 and see if this helps

Thanks for your replies.
Cool hibby, I looked at this setting but it doesn't make sense to me. Does evap probe mean air probe and if so then when room is down to temp it will read lower than the setpoint?

Re: Coldface panels
Hi :
it is a setting ment to "save" energy ,stops the evap fans when reach temp setting ,and yes as said before it could be changed go to their(eliwell) site
http://www.eliwell.it/supportingdocuments.aspx?id=1506#
and it should be easy enough to change.
good luckLast edited by goshen; 03-09-2010 at 05:08 AM.

Re: Coldface panels
hi, no evap probe is the evaporator probe (probe 2) also sometimes refered to as defrost termination probe, this will be monted either in the back of the cooler or strapped to the return bend on the end of the evaporator,
if you set the setting to say -20 then it should keep your fans running all the time, but if your evaporator doesnt have fans and is off cycle only then short the fans to run all the time!!

Re: Coldface panels
Thanks,
I now get the drift.
We are using off cycle defrost at the minute so fans need to run in defrost, however, we are going to put electric defrost on soon so we will need to stop the fans on defrost eventually.
Do you think stopping the fans on electric defrost, aids the defrost that much?

Re: Coldface panels
the fans stop on defrost anyway.the reason for the fan control is to stop the fans blowing warm air round the room after a defrost.personally i would not set the fst setting above 5 c
