electric cabinet cooling
Hi sirs
How about the application of thermoelectric air conditioner to the cabinet cooling? Is it more reliable than compressor refrigeration system ?
anybody can share me some information here? thanks in advnce
regards
LC

Re: electric cabinet cooling
Hi Lc shi
It really depends on the application and load size. Thermoelectric is drastically less efficient than vapour compression. If it is for something like a humidor (small to medium) then it's OK. It is reliable and simple to control with electronics, hence reliable. So for small loads it's cool - but not for bigger loads.

Re: electric cabinet cooling
Hi LC SHI ,as tesla says thermoelectric is far less efficient. a good example are the small plug in car fridges, runs 4 amps on 12 volts all day to cool about 10c below ambient where a compressor driven car fridge running 4 amps can cool around four times the space and cycle at 30c below ambient.

Re: electric cabinet cooling
thanks for your information. I'll look for the compressor system.

Re: electric cabinet cooling
I have worked on plenty of the Rittal units and they are pretty good.

Re: electric cabinet cooling
Cabinet coolers use a vortex tube that converts compressed air into cold air to cool.So cooling can be done easily.

Re: electric cabinet cooling
A waste of energy.
To receive 1 KW of work from compressed air, you will need 8 KW electricity!!!!
Most electric boards use refrigerants as cooling substance. Mainly R-134a.
