    Bad Compressor?



    I ohmed out the compressor and got OL from c,s and r. Would you say the compressor is bad??

    Be sure you are directly on the motor leads, if so it would seem so

    No would not start. Went to the other roof top unit and was getting 2.9 ohms. As you know the compressor show read the same ohms to all leads. So yes bad compressor..

    Your questions are not hard but your wording is hard to understand.

    If you want us to diagnose the comp then give us a clue to its type.

    Is it cap start - run?
    Hermetic - semihermtic?

    You see not all windings have the same readings so if you want advise then give us some information we can use. Or are you just here to show off your seventeen grand education. you stated C, S, & R. Common, start and run?? If that is the case, then the readings between c - r will differ to the one from c - s and that will differ to the reading from s - r. But you know that already, don't you??
