Regas of domestic appliences
Hi,
I am a car a/c tech and now working with domestics applliences. I know that most house fridge fridge systems are sealed and have no charging ports but what about the larger appliences i.e. display fridges and large bottle coolers in pubs and clubs. How difficult is it to recharge a house fridge is it worth the hassle?? Many thanks.

Re: Regas of domestic appliences
Hi Jack,
Need to find the leak first, fix it then worry about adding refrigerant.
(they don't leak like cars, no rubber hoses or shaft seals.)
Some domestic and small commercial stuff runs on propane/butane etc so be carefull.

We assume that you have the correct "ticket" to work on non vehicle systems?

Re: Regas of domestic appliences
Personally speaking, I would say that most domestic stuff isn't worth bothering with, as mentioned, you have to find the leak, a lot of the pipework is encased in PU foam or surrounded in plastic or is aluminium.. I do a bit with portable dehumidifiers and the like, they can be repaired and charged by brazing on a charging valve..
