Heating/Cooling above garage in the South?
I'm looking for advice on how to heat and cool the garage and above garage space I'm building here in AL. It will be 28x28 in the garage and about 18x28 upstairs, both of which won't be heated and cooled regularly. I don't want to go with an HVAC system, but would like to use some sort of independent mounted units. I figure I will need to keep the upstairs at 85 or so in the summer, but it will mainly be used for guests and a play room. The garage only needs to stay about 40 in the winter.
I've seen units by various manufacturers and I think a guy was talking about mounted heat pumps that run on a 110. I'm obviously looking for something that can do the job, but still cost efficient.
Thanks for any help you can give!
