Daikin my90cj
HI there i have a Daikin MY90CJ system that the customer was running on Heat mode but said it was only heating for small time then shut off. I got the fault code from the controller which was E5 whch i found out means the compressor is going out on its overload. i was told it could be a thermistor out of range but then waqs told by another guy that it could be short of refrigerant. Has anyone else had this fault before and if so what did you replace or change
thanks

Re: Daikin my90cj
Hi,
There are 2 possible reasons why the unit will trip on an E5 error;
- Compressor thermal overload is open circuit (shell temp >120)
- Compressor over current (measured by small CT PCB)
