Question Samsung Fridge/Freezer American style

Model RS21NCSV. Had the Fridge iced up on the coil
and defrosted it manually by hot water. On two seperate occasions this has happened and on clearing up the ice the fridge has worked ok, but this time, switching on, the electronic panel is just blinking and nothing is happening. Any suggestions as it seems no one wants to touch this type of American Style fridges ?

Re: Samsung Fridge/Freezer American style

hi silverking,
hope the hot water was not boiling it could make the gas in the system expand to extent of making a leak depending on how much water was used,

Re: Samsung Fridge/Freezer American style

Hi Silverking,
Is the fan runnining in the fridge section? there is a problem with samsungs...The polystyrene ducting around the evap fan blisters out and stops the fan this is due to water/ice growing through the polystyrene. This causes an iced up coil? new ducting block or short term fix is to dry the existing one ensuring foil tape is not blocing ports and scrape away blistered polystyrene, this has worked a dozen or so times for me now

Re: Samsung Fridge/Freezer American style

Continued... you may have damaged the probe or thermal fuse with the water?

Re: Samsung Fridge/Freezer American style

It could be your defrost heater? Although this normally trips your sockets if this happens but worth a look.
