Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
Specialized stuff, NH3, 400Kw refrig at -60kpa, 3 tonnes product outfeed per hour, 2 stage NH3.
Currently in China, freaking smog is horrendous, visibility is less than one Km. Who would be a fridgy working international.

These days mostly Italian air cooled chillers, some recip, some screw and occasionally Turbocor compressors. Previously McQuay centrifugals

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
Well basiclly I work on whatever comes my way, although I havent woked on nh3 systems.I have woked on centrifugal chillers using r11,and r12 cascade systems for electronic testing chillers of all capacities and types, also on swro reverse osmosis plant and lithium bromide chillers.

1.Low temperature single stage refrigeration up to -45 C
2. Cascade refrigeration -86, -120 and hoping for -150 with cascade and autocascade
3. Refrigeration Industrial and medical

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
Low temp autocascades here normally, and a few cascading units now and again.

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
Mostly refrigerated compressed air driers (pretty basic stuff really compared with what the guys work on here) although we have installed some cassettes. Main field is the Compressors themselves ie methane, air and nitrogen.

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
I care for some Trane, Carrier & York chillers up to 1.8MW and a stack of smaller lighter commercial DX equipment on CFC HFC. I'm fascinated by air cycle, TES and some of the other exotics ( ie: ultrasonic, multistage absorption etc ) but haven't had the opportunity to play with them.

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
Well as some one long in the tooth in this business, I was wondering if there are any more out there that worked on systems using Methyl Chloride and also those using SO2.
The latter often with low side float valves.
All units were Open belt drive, but you could in almost all occasions repair the system on site.
That is if you could tolerate the SO2 dreadful stuff.
I guess this off topic but what the hell.
Spares were amazing, mostly V belts and shaft seals, even valve plates, gaskets and reed valves.
I don't suppose labour rates these days would allow so much site time, who could afford it!

Air-to-water heat pumps.
Moving onto CO2 heat-pump systems.
Ultra-compact refrigeration & heat-pump devices.

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
Mainly handle low temp cold storage after market issues/ situations, chilled water systems, dx a.c. plant , process cooling systems . Handle main issues with recip compressors , its tear down analysis & assessing problems . However, a couple occassions were such that customers switched suction & discharge lines ( by experienced engineers) and yet customer flaked for having supplied them a Z grade compressor .This was sequel to a STRANGE PHENOMENA OF RESULTANT HOT SUCTION LINE & COLD DIS LINE experienced by customer .

Re: What kind of refrigeration system do you work on?
In the fridge industry:
recip chillers, for process, and hvac
fridges/freezers of any shape and size down to -25F
air driers for compressed air, process again
heat pumps in countless applications
Pool systems...dehumidifiers, heat pumps etc.
AC for comfort, process, and comp rooms
heat recovery systems
limited NH3 exposure...hate the smell (If it doesnt kill you it makes you...)
Associated work:
Gas fired heating systems, from domestic heating up to auto assembly plant process ovens and paint fume incinerators operating at 1400F
steam and hydronic boiler systems for heating and process
Process PLC control systems (Allen Bradley, Harland Simon, etc)
Process Robotics (Kawasaki, Fanuc)
Future target: absorption systems
