Question Scotsman ACM225 on high condenser temperature

    Hi,

I have been back and forward to this ice machine a few times now and have ran out of ideas on why it keeps tripping off.
The original problem I found was a lack of water in the sump causing the machine to run dry by the second or third batch. I removed the inlet valve, cleaned the filter and replaced the fill hose which appeared to solve the problem.
Now the machine will run for a few days to a week then trip off on high condenser temp fault.

The condenser is clear and fan is running
    The refrigerant charge is fine
The The coil is freezing all over

Can you say for everyone what gas is it using? What is low and high side pressures?

    Thank you.

However, I have not worked for a long time on ice machines, does the fan goes on on the command from a sensor in the condenser?

What is condenser air on and off temperature?
    What is subcooling and superheat?
What are saturation evaporation and condensation temperatures?
What is ambient temperature where ice maker is placed?

What is that got to do with high pressure error on air cooled condenser?

Re: Scotsman ACM225 on high condenser temperature

NOTE. In case the condenser temperature
probe senses that the condenser temperature
has rised to 70°C (160°F) - on air cooled
    versions - or 62°C (145°F) - on water cooled
versions - for one of the following reasons:
    CLOGGED CONDENSER (Air cooled
    version)
    INSUFFICIENT FLOW OF COOLING
    WATER (Water cooled version)
FAN MOTOR OUT OF OPERATION (Air
    cooled version)
    AMBIENT TEMPERATURE HIGHER THEN
    40°C (100°F)
it causes the total and immediate SHUT-OFF
of the machine in order to prevent the unit
from operating in abnormal and dangerous
    conditions.
When the ice maker stops on account of this
protective device, there is a simultaneous
glowing of the RED LED, warning the user of
    the Hi Temperature situation.
After having eliminated the source of the
    condenser hi-temperature, to restart the
machine it is necessary first to rotate for a
while the program selector on RE-SET
position then again on OPERATION position
or to unplug (wait few seconds) and plug in
again the unit. The ice machine resumes its
normal operation by going through the 5
    minutes water filling phase.

Original fault was insufficent water supply, so we have to go with that first. Now it is highly likely that this solenoid
Could now be' letting by 'allowing 'warm' water to continually enter the machine causing a high temperature cutout.
