Traction coefficiant
Can someone tell me what traction co-efficiant means in relation to refrigerant oils ?

Re: Traction coefficiant
I'm not a RE.....
but in plain english....
it's how hard it is to pull the oil appart / how well it's stuck together..
something with a low traction co-efficiant will form very small dropletswhen spilt
something with a high traction co-efficiant will form larger droplets when spilt
it's also relevent when running over gears .. how much oil they pick up etc..
I (guess) it would effect oil return to the compressor too ? larger droplets will be easier to return than smaller ones ?Last edited by knighty; 08-06-2009 at 03:39 AM.
