Scotsman CS60 no ice
Hi guys hope this is the place to put this question. I have a CS60 Scotsman that is like new. It was installed used a couple times and set up since dry.
Upon initial startup I found the water valve stuck open so replaced that. Now it'll start, fill, pump, spray but the water doesn't get cold at all and only the first 9" of the evap is ice'n up. The rest of it is cool at best. Looks kind of weird. I have no gauges. High side is hot coming out of compressor, low side is ice'n up going into the evap other than that I'm stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Scotsman CS60 no ice
Hi docgreen.
I think you may have to call someone in to look at your unit.
Basically without gauges to confirm system pressures.
Diagnosis would be a nightmare!
My Initial guess would be that the system is short of refrigerant.
But as I say at this stage it is just a guess.
Simply put the frost line (or amount of ice at thew evaporator) is relevant to liquid refrigerant within the evaporator.

Re: Scotsman CS60 no ice
Thanks. I already downloaded the manuals. It makes ice but it took 3 hrs to produce the first batch. The manual said it should take 20 min.
