Fluke IR Thermometer
I have been impulse buying again !
Just bought a Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer and was wondering if anyone has used one before and if so are they any good/reliable/accurate.
Fluke claim they are quite good, but as we all know they would not tell us they are c**p.

Re: Fluke IR Thermometer
Infra Red thermometers are only good or giving an indication of what is happening.
I use them for a quick check to see if a water pipe is changing temperature or an air discharge is cool/warm/hot.
I've found too many variable readings to rely on them for accurate temperature readings.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Chillerman
watch out for shiny surfaces, or anything with a reflection has a differant emissivity rating (how much I.R. radiation is emitted from that surface). Always use a bit of mat black electrical tape stuck ontop of the surface)
Handy tool just gotta know when its lying!

Re: Fluke IR Thermometer
I have FLIR T-400 at my disposal , i must say that is the best bit of kit ive used. My company bought it for inspections of electrical dis boards and the like. I've found uses for it in data centres for load evaluating servers, a/c units loading. Even shutting up winey pants office girls with 'i'm too cold/hot bollocks. I think every engineer should have one, not cheap at 16K
P.s. it also detects french nickers, G-strings, and commando's hahaha
