Bohn Chiller w/ screw compressor
Hi Guys,
I am squared away in residential and light commercial but am venturing into new territory with a screw compressor. About a month ago I had to make a coil repair to this chiller due to a fan that broke and damaged the coil. This unit is about 20 yrs. old with a 55 ton Dunham-Bush compressor. Made repair and all necessary procedures to bring back on line. Unit came back up with no issues. Went back about a week later to remove high water drier cores and replaced with regular cores. Again back on line with no problems. Call today from them with complaint of minimal cooling. Found pressures 100 suction and 215 head. Loading solenoid energized. Electrically everything seems to be working. Reset power and watched as unit started up, fans on, solenoid snaps but no change in pressures. My thoughts range from a possible malfunctioning TXV to perhaps in spite of the electrical solenoid working that the loader itself may not be. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Tim
