Condensing Unit Above Evaporator
I have to install a free stand split type air conditioner of 48000 BTU/hr and 24000 BTU/hr cassette type in a building where the condensing unit will be
above the evaporator more than 6 m also there will be a
horizontal distance of about 2-3 m out of the evaporator before the pipe go upward to the condensing unit ( Notice : The manufacturer did not say anything
about similar case ) so please advise me with the following :
1- Should I make an oil trap ( at which distance and will it be on the suction or the liquid pipe or both)?.
2- How can I keep the capacity of the unit as high as possible due to this distance?
Thanks

Re: Condensing Unit Above Evaporator
no matter if the condenser is above the evaporator..
you should take note only in the ff;
-total line set distance
-total rise
-total drop
NOTE: a rise followed by a drop cannot be followed by another rise..
so as a drop followed by a rise cannot be followed by another drop..
its a genral rule to prevent oil migration!With great power Comes Great Responsibility
