    Codes of practice help?

I am finishing my portfolio and there is a question that i am stuck on, it reads.

" list the codes of practice acts that the industry has to work to"

Does it mean the F-gas regulations or something else?

When you complete your list it would be useful to us if you could post it here as well.

the most obvious ones are EN378, Environmental Protection Act 1994, Health & Safety at Work Act which includes most of the others like lifting etc., COSHH. Part L of the building regulations and the list goes on. Remember to mention the difference between a law and a code of prctice, always good for some extra browny points.

Simple really, if you break a law you can go to jail whereas a code of practice is a guide produced usually by industry associations laying out how things should be done. It is the individuals choice wether to comply with it however if anything goes wrong and it goes to court and the code of practice has not been adhered to god help you as the court takes the code of practice as a minimum requirement.
